POLYMETALLIC - Northern Tiger Resources Inc. said the spin-out transaction with Firestone Ventures is complete and drilling has commenced at its wholly owned Sonora gold-silver-copper-molybdenum project. The 12,952-acre Sonora property is located in the Yukon Territory approximately 40 kilometers from Sherwood Copper's Minto copper-gold mine. The C$1.5 million 2008 drill program will focus on delineation of the Sonora gold-silver-copper mineralizing system, including exploration for additional high-grade gold zones. The company will spend an additional C$0.6 million exploring Minto-style high-grade copper-gold mineralization on five properties covering geological settings similar to the Minto Mine. Sherwood Copper Corp., as part of a regional exploration alliance agreement, is providing logistical support through use of its Minto Mine access road and airstrip.

GOLD - International Tower Hill Mines Ltd. July 23 released the latest assay results from two trenches and an additional 14 holes of the 2008 resource expansion program at its Livengood gold project in Alaska. Results include hole MK-RC-011, which intersected 140 meters of 1.0 grams per ton gold; including 4.6 meters of 5.9 g/t gold, and hole MK-RC-023, which intersected multiple horizons of gold mineralization; including 67 meters of 0.95 g/t gold and 57.9 meters of 2.5 g/t gold. The results continue to expand the northwest-trending 300-meter-by 500-meter core zone of the Livengood deposit, which remains open in all directions. Higher grade mineralization has been intersected at either end along strike length and the company is currently focusing on expanding the zone with step-out drilling to the northwest and southeast. An updated NI 43-101 resource estimate is expected to be prepared midway through the 2008 program and released in mid-October.
