Mining News resolves to lose weight while expanding coverage

The New Year offers an opportunity to reflect on the past and resolve to create a brighter future. For the mining industry in Alaska, Canada and around the globe, 2014 is a year that most are happy to bid adieu and 2015 provides hope that the metals and venture capital markets swing upward this trip around the sun.

Though once removed from these markets, North of 60 Mining News and its peers in the mining journalism business share the ride through the market cycles – realizing greater prosperity when the cycles are up and sharing in the leaner times when markets are down.

While the deep valleys of the mining and mineral exploration cycles necessitate belt-tightening, they also offer an opportunity to ready one’s prospect (or publication) for the next upswing in the markets.

To this end, North of 60 Mining News’ resolution for the New Year is to lose some weight, provide you with better mining coverage and ready the publication for expansion into 2015 and beyond.

Starting the first full week of January, North of 60 Mining News is launching a weekly print edition!

This new format will provide readers with the comprehensive coverage you have come to expect from the monthly editions of North of 60 Mining News with the news updates provided in the weekly online newsletters.

The weekly print edition will continue to be delivered to readers as an inset in Petroleum News, just more often. Our weekly articles will continue to be delivered to subscriber email inboxes, only with more in-depth coverage every week of mining events in the North.

It is my belief that this format tightens the belt of North of 60 Mining News, delivers you with the best our publication has to offer and provides a vehicle for expansion as we look forward to a growing mining sector in 2015 and beyond.

I wish you a golden New Year!
