Alaskan Crude applies for Arctic Fortitude unit

Alaskan Crude Corp. has applied to the Alaska Department of Natural Resources to form and operate the Arctic Fortitude unit on Alaska’s North Slope. The proposed unit encompasses three state tracts on the south side of the Prudhoe Bay unit, immediately east of the NE Storms unit.

The unit application lists primary exploration targets in the Ugnu, West Sal and Ivishak formations, with prospects identified from 3D seismic data. Alaska Crude is in the process of obtaining more 3D seismic and anticipates re-entering the Burglin No. 33-1 well by June 30, 2007. The exploration plan for the unit envisages the subsequent drilling of additional exploration wells from existing gravel pads.

James White, president of Alaskan Crude, is a long-time investor and explorer in Alaska oil and gas.
