Proposed coastal consistency determination for the ANGDA spur line issued

On May 8 the Alaska Department of Natural Resources issued the proposed coastal consistency determination for the Alaska Natural Gas Development Authority’s proposed conditional right-of-way lease for a Glennallen to Palmer gas spur line. DNR will issue the final coastal consistency determination on Monday May 15 — the proposed determination finds that ANGDA’s proposed pipeline is consistent with the Alaska coastal management program.

ANGDA’s proposed pipeline would deliver natural gas to Southcentral Alaska from a future gas line from the North Slope.

The coastal consistency determination is a critical component of the permitting for the pipeline right of way and applies to those sections of the pipeline route in the proposed state right of way in the sector of the pipeline that would lie within the Matanuska-Susitna Borough coastal district boundaries.
