CORRECTION: New drilling moratorium does not apply to the Arctic
Yesterday’s Petroleum News bulletin about Interior Secretary Ken Salazar’s announcement of a new outer continental shelf drilling moratorium incorrectly stated that the moratorium would apply to drilling in the Arctic.
In fact, the moratorium will only apply to the Gulf of Mexico and Pacific regions, according to the moratorium decision memorandum that Salazar sent to Michael Bromwich, director of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement.
