ConocoPhillips applies to resume LNG exports

ConocoPhillips Alaska has applied to the U.S. Department of Energy to resume exports of liquefied natural gas from its Kenai LNG facility.

The company said in an email statement that it has support from many local stakeholders for the application, as well as a request from the State of Alaska. The application was submitted yesterday.

ConocoPhillips said it remains committed to meeting its local gas supply contracts and putting local gas needs first, and “affirms its commitment to divert its equity and third party gas from the Kenai LNG Facility to local buyers during times of peak need.”
