International rig count for October down

Baker Hughes Inc. said Nov. 7 that the international rig count for October was 1,096, down 12 from 1,108 in September, and up 72 from 1,024 in October 2007.

The international offshore rig count for October was 284, down nine from 293 in September, and down two from 286 in October 2007.

Baker Hughes said the U.S. rig count for October was 1,976, down 38 from 2,014 in September, and up 214 from 1,762 in October 2007.

The October Canadian rig count was 446, up 11 from 435 in September and up 108 from 338 in October 2007.

The worldwide rig count for October was 3,518, down 39 from 3,557 in September and up 394 from 3,124 in October 2007.
