Forest Oil Corp. said Feb. 14 that it plans eight development and five exploratory wells in the Cook Inlet area in 2001.

The exploratory activity will be at the company’s Redoubt Shoal project and development activity primarily in the West McArthur River field.

At Redoubt, where Forest has a 100 percent working interest, the company said the Redoubt Unit 1 well has been drilled to a total depth of 15,232 feet measured depth. The well is being logged and tested and the company anticipates that the well will be fully evaluated within seven days.

At West McArthur River, where Forest also has 100 percent working interest, the West McArthur River Unit 7 well is being drilled. The company said logging is expected late in the first quarter.
