BP ANS term price edges up after steep January drop

BP’s February term price for Alaska North Slope crude is $24.52 a barrel, up 73 cents, 3.07 percent, from the January price of $23.79. The January price reflected a 27.27 percent drop from $32.71 a barrel for December, a 15-year high in dollars of the day for the term price.

The year-to-date average price is $24.16 a barrel, down 3.9 percent from the comparable year-to-date average of $25.14 in 2000. The comparable year-to-date average for 1999 was $10.08 a barrel.

BP is the only North Slope producer to post a term price.
