The U.S. Bureau of Land Management is looking for nominees for five positions on its Alaska advisory council: commercial recreation; dispersed recreation; elected official; Alaska Natives; and public-at-large

The Alaska Resource Advisory Council provides advice and recommendations to BLM on land management issues for some 80 million acres of public lands in Alaska. Council members serve three-year terms and may be reappointed. There is no salary, but members are reimbursed for travel expenses.

Members represent energy and minerals; tourism and outdoor recreation; environmental, archeological and historic interests; elected officials; Alaska Native organizations; and the public.

Nominations will be accepted until April 13. Nomination packets are available online at www.blm.gov.ak or by phone at 907-271-5555.
