Arctic Directory: Lindner and Nelson win NAC Iditarod awards

Northern Air Cargo said that it sponsored two prizes for racers at the Iditarod musher’s banquet in Nome on March 22. Sonny Lindner was the winner of the third annual Herbie Nayokpuk award. Lindner, an Iditarod veteran from Two Rivers, was judged to exhibit the spirit of the race that Herbie Nayokpuk brought to the Iditarod and to life in general. Robert Nelson, from Kotzebue, drew the winning key in the 2nd annual NAC 4-Wheel Deal, receiving a new ATV courtesy of NAC and Eagle River Polaris Arctic Cat.
