Usibelli Coal Mine Inc. is a surface mining operation located in Healy, Alaska. It is the only operating coal mine in Alaska and employs approximately 95 Alaskans year round. UCM sells ultra low sulfur coal to six power plants in Alaska and exports to multiple Pacific Rim countries, such as Chile, South Korea and China.
Robert Brown joined Usibelli in September of 2008. His career started in the aggregate business working for a heavy civil contractor here in Alaska, first as plant engineer and eventually as assistant plant manager. In his spare time, Robert enjoys fishing, camping and watching his son’s soccer games. He lives in Wasilla with his wife Lisa and three sons, Aaron, Christopher and Michael.
