Meet Alaska conference scheduled for Jan. 25

The 19th Meet Alaska Conference will be Friday, Jan. 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel.

Hosted by The Alaska Support Industry Alliance, the theme of the one-day conference is Alaska's Role in a National Energy Policy.

Member cost for registration is $195. Non-members are also invited to attend. Cost for non-member registrations is $200.

Meet Alaska speakers include Alaska Gov. Tony Knowles; Honourable Roger Simmons, PC, consul general, Canada; D. R. Duncan, vice president of government relations, Phillips Petroleum Co.; John Ellwood, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Foothills Pipe Lines Ltd.; Steve Marshall, president, BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc.; Mark L. Pease, vice president of international and Alaska operations, Anadarko Petroleum Corp.; Dan Vanlandingham, vice president of Americas, Energy Industries Group, EDS; and United States Department of Energy (invited)

The conference will also include comments by Sen. Frank Murkowski; Kevin Meyers, president, Phillips Alaska Inc.; David Wight, president, Alyeska Pipeline Service Co.

The Alliance is a statewide non-profit trade association representing nearly 420 businesses, organizations and individuals who provide products and services to the oil and gas industry.

The conference affords delegates an opportunity to meet with industry executives and decision-makers to develop business relationships and importantly, strengthen ties outside Alaska and the United States, the Alliance said.
