University wants comments on Pioneer area oil and gas lease

The University of Alaska is asking for public comment on its receipt of “a fair market value offer” for an oil and gas lease of approximately 1,510 acres on a number of separate parcels in townships 17 north and 18north, range 1 west, Seward Meridian, near Wasilla. The lease is near Evergreen Resources (Alaska) Corp.’s Pioneer unit.

The university said that parties interested in commenting on the pending lease must submit a letter on or before 5:00 pm Aug. 30 to: Kristi Sherman, University of Alaska, Land Management, 1157 Deborah Ave., Fairbanks, AK 99709.
