House majority to hear gas line alternatives
Speaker of the House John Harris, R-Valdez, said Jan. 17 that the Republican House majority will hold series of open caucuses over the next few weeks to provide a forum for gas pipeline proposals that were rejected or not considered by the Palin administration under the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act.
Harris said he would be contacting companies or organizations eliminated in the first round of competition. ConocoPhillips — which submitted a proposal outside of AGIA — will also be invited.
Harris said he would chair the open meetings, which will be open to legislators, the press and the public.
