Phillips defers McCovey

Phillips Alaska Inc. has deferred the Beaufort Sea McCovey exploration well until next year. “It was a matter of not having everything in place in time to complete the project in the time available this year,” Phillips spokeswoman Dawn Patience told PNA.

She said there had been unexpected permit delays on state, federal and local permits, although all but one of the necessary permits have now been obtained.

Phillips will be working with the agencies to see about amending the permits for use next year, she said.
