ConocoPhillips names new E&P head to succeed McKee

ConocoPhillips said Dec. 27 that it has named W.B. "Bill" Berry to succeed Rob McKee as executive vice president, exploration and production.

The company said McKee has elected to retire effective March 31, after 35 years of service, and will be on special assignment to ConocoPhillips CEO Jim Mulva from Jan. 1 until his retirement.

McKee joined Conoco Inc. in 1967 and held senior positions in the United States and Europe, including vice president, refining and marketing, North America; senior vice president, administration; and executive vice president, corporate strategy and business development. He served as executive vice president, exploration, for Conoco from 1992 to 2002.

Berry, currently president, Asia Pacific, becomes executive vice president, exploration and production, effective Jan.1. Berry began his career with Phillips in 1976 and held various domestic and international upstream management positions. He was named senior vice president of E&P Eurasia-Middle East in 2001. He also served as director of corporate strategic planning for Phillips.
