Oil Patch Bits: Hilcorp cooks host luaus with help from Five Star
Hilcorp said June 14 that from June 3-14 Five Star Oilfield Services put on 18 luaus for Hilcorp’s Trading Bay camp, Dolly Varden Platform, Grayling Platform, Steelhead Platform, King Salmon Platform, Monopod Platform, Granite Point Platform, Anna Platform and the Bruce Platform. The head cooks on each platform hosted the luau two times, allowing each crew to enjoy it.
The spread at each luau included a large variety of decorations, from grass skirts to leis and parrots, and a vast and impressive menu of Kailua pork skewered shrimp, teriyaki chicken and beef, macadamia nut crusted halibut and lomi lomi salmon for the main dishes. Side dishes included chicken long rice, baked sweet potatoes, roasted yams, tuna poke, and pineapple and mango fruit skewers. For the sweet desserts crews had haupia, tropical island cake, and banana and mango cake. The luau provided crews a chance to escape, if for only 30 minutes and get as close as they could to Hawaii!
Five Star Oilfield Services enjoyed hosting the luaus and would like to thank all of the hard working employees who went above and beyond to pull it off.
