ASRC Energy Services said Aug. 14 that its president and CEO, Jeff Kinneeveauk, been named 2012 Professional of the Year by the American Indian Science and Engineering Society. Kinneeveauk will be presented the award during the 34th AISES Annual National Conference, to be held Nov. 1-3 in Anchorage, Alaska.
An Iñupiaq Eskimo from Point Hope, Alaska, Kinneeveauk took over as AES president and CEO in early 2011, rising through the ranks after starting with the company upon graduation from Northwest Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Arts in physics with an emphasis in engineering in 1997.
Kinneeveauk is the third Iñupiat Eskimo to receive AISES’s top award for overall leadership and technical achievement. Lorena Hegdal, who grew up in Nome, received the award in 2007 and Richard “Savik” Glenn from Barrow received this significant award in 2004.
AISES was formed in 1977 to increase American Indian and Alaska Native participation in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math.
