Alaska North Slope crude oil production averaged 670,144 barrels per day in February, down 0.27 percent from a January average of 671,989 bpd.
The largest per-barrel change was at Prudhoe Bay, which averaged 346,517 bpd in February, up 2.24 percent or 7,602 bpd from a January average of 338,915 bpd. The BP Exploration (Alaska)-operated field includes satellite production from Aurora, Borealis, Midnight Sun, Orion and Polaris.
The BP-operated Lisburne field had the largest per-barrel and percentage drop in month-to-month production, down 14.2 percent or 4,945 bpd. Lisburne production, which includes the Point McIntyre and Niakuk fields, averaged 29,910 bpd in February, down from 34,855 bpd in January.
The ConocoPhillips Alaska-operated Alpine field averaged 89,179 bpd in February, down 4.48 percent or 4,178 bpd, from a January average of 93,357 bpd. Alpine production includes satellites production from Fiord, Nanuq and Qannik.
Kuparuk includes Oooguruk The Kuparuk River field, also operated by ConocoPhillips Alaska, averaged 141,915 bpd in February, down 0.3 percent from a January average of 142,345 bpd. Kuparuk includes satellite production from West Sak, Tabasco, Tarn, Meltwater and Palm, as well as production from the Pioneer Natural Resources Alaska-operated Oooguruk field.
The most recent production information available for Oooguruk is for December. In that month the field averaged 9,162 bpd.
BP’s Milne Point field averaged 26,534 bpd in February, down 0.28 percent from a January average of 26,608 bpd. Milne Point includes Schrader Bluff and Sag River production.
The BP-operated Northstar field averaged 22,190 bpd in February, down 0.5 percent from a January average of 22,301 bpd.
The BP-operated Endicott field averaged 13,899 bpd in February, up 2.14 percent from a January average of 13,608 bpd. Endicott includes production from Sag Delta and Eider.
The temperature at Pump Station 1 on the North Slope averaged minus 8.96 degrees Fahrenheit, up from a January average of minus 14.77 F.
Cook Inlet production averaged 10,897 bpd, up 13.94 percent from a January average of 9,564 bpd.
ANS crude oil production peaked in 1988 at 2.1 million bpd; Cook Inlet crude oil production peaked in 1970 at more than 227,000 bpd.
