DNR asks for new North Slope lease sale information

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Oil and Gas is asking for new information on proposals to offer all available acreage in North Slope and North Slope Foothills areawide oil and gas lease sales in 2009.

The call is for information that has become available since the most recent best interest finding for the lease sale area. The North Slope areawide best interest finding was issued in July 2008; the Foothills finding was issued in January 2002.

The call for new information closes May 4; a supplement to the best interest finding or a decision of no substantial new information is scheduled for July; the sales are proposed for October.
