Vol. 14, No. 24 Week of June 14, 2009

Alaska Steel Co.

Alaska Steel, a customer-driven, forward-thinking metals company, operates in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Kenai. Alaska Steel helped pioneer low-temperature steel in North America and raised the bar on wear application products. The company’s 6,000-ton inventory gives customers the variety they need for tackling any size project from a handrail to a high rise building.

Joining the Alaska Steel team in 2005, Skyler Plonta started as a hot shot delivery driver, working his way to his current position of outside sales in 2009. Skyler is a life-long Alaskan and enjoys skiing, golfing, softball and going to Alaska Aces games. An avid musician, while attending high school, Skyler was asked to perform at Universal Studios, Orlando, where he sang with the school jazz choir.
