BLM schedules Mooses Tooth meetings
The Bureau of Land Management has scheduled public meetings and subsistence hearings in March to gather comments on ConocoPhillips Alaska’s proposed Greater Mooses Tooth Unit 1 oil and gas development in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska. BLM released a draft environmental review for the proposed project Feb. 21; public comments are due by April 22.
Public meetings in North Slope villages will also serve as hearings on potential impacts to subsistence resources are required by the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act Section 810. Meetings scheduled include:
•March 10, Point Lay Community Center, open house 4-6 p.m.; meeting/hearing 6 p.m.
•March 11, Atqasuk Community Center, open house 3:30-5 p.m.; meeting/hearing 6:30 p.m.
•March 12, Barrow NSB Assembly Chambers, open house 4-6 p.m.; meeting/hearing 6 p.m.
•March 13, Nuiqsut Kisik Community Center, open house 4-6 p.m.; meeting hearing 6 p.m.
•March 17, Wainwright Community Center, open house 4-6 p.m.; meeting/hearing 6 p.m.
•March 18, Anaktuvuk Pass Community Center, open house 4-6 p.m.; meeting/hearing 6 p.m.
•March 19, Fairbanks BLM District Office, open house 4-6 p.m.; meeting 6 p.m.
•March 20, Anchorage Campbell Creek Science Center, open house 4-6 p.m., meeting 6 p.m.
