CH2M Hill training course includes military

CH2M Hill said June 3 that for a second straight summer it is promoting career advancement in southwest Alaska with a general maintenance technician training course. This year’s program is being expanded to include those who are transitioning from active service to civilian, Alaska Guard members or veterans. Training will be held at the Southwest Alaska Vocational & Educational Center in King Salmon.

The three week program is an effective combination of jobsite knowledge, life skills and technical skills to prepare the student for employment. Students learn safety, construction math, and other basic skills before training and mentoring by CH2M Hill instructors from its North Slope jobsite. Those who successfully complete the course will be extended and offer of employment on the North Slope. This year’s class will be dedicated to those in the military service or veterans.
