Oil Patch Bits: Merger results in Global Offshore Divers

Anchorage-based Offshore Divers and Seattle-based Global Diving and Salvage Inc. have merged to form a new company, Global Offshore Divers, which will be based in Anchorage and offer expanded services for the Alaska marketplace.“The combination of these two companies increases the assets to provide mixed gas and saturation diving capabilities for the offshore oil and gas fields located in Cook Inlet, the Beaufort and Chukchi seas and Bristol Bay,” Offshore Divers and Global Diving and Salvage said in a press release on Jan. 13. Offshore Divers current management “will be actively involved” in running the new company, Global Offshore Divers, which is a wholly owned division of Global Diving and Salvage. Global Offshore Divers “is a result of a firm commitment to provide the offshore exploration lease holders with saturation and mixed gas deep diving capability through an Alaskan based and staffed company,” said the Jan. 13 press release.
