ANCs selling Endicott Pipeline stakes

In separate cases, two Alaska Native corporations are looking to sell their minority stakes in the Endicott Pipeline to a pair of existing owners on the North Slope pipeline.

The Regulatory Commission of Alaska is considering requests from Doyon Ltd. and NANA Regional Corp. to transfer their small interests in the Beaufort Sea pipeline to BP Transportation (Alaska) Inc. and Amoco Endicott Pipeline Co. Doyon owns a 0.1291 percent interest in the pipeline and NANA owns a 0.3874 percent interest in the pipeline.

In addition to those four companies, Unocal Pipeline Co. and ExxonMobil Pipeline Co. each also own an interest in the 26-mile pipeline from Endicott Island to Pump Station No. 1 on the trans-Alaska oil pipeline. BP is the managing member of the Endicott Pipeline Co., which has been the operator of the pipeline since its certification in 1985.

Given the small size of the interests and the fact that the dealings only involve existing owners, all four companies have asked the commission for a quick approval.
