Doyon planning fourth Nenana well

Doyon Limited is permitting a new exploration well in the Nenana region.

The Alaska Native corporation recently applied for two permits from the Division of Mining, Land and Water in connection with a proposed Totchaket No. 1 exploration well.

The company is asking for permission to store facilities and equipment at the existing Togohotthele No. 1 Pad for the proposed Totchaket exploration program. The facilities would include a 120-person camp as well as fuel, materials and equipment. The company is also requesting permission to cross state lands for summer and winter off-road travel.

The state is taking comments on the proposals through July 19.

Earlier this year, Doyon announced that the Togohotthele No. 1 well, although non-commercial for natural gas at the time, encountered multiple promising oil shows. The company said it was studying a Totchaket East lead from a recent seismic survey.
