BLM schedules Willow scoping meetings

The Bureau of Land Management has scheduled public scoping meetings as part of the preparation of a master development plan environmental impact statement for the Willow prospect within the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska.

BLM said the meetings are an opportunity to learn about the project, provide public comments and ask questions.

The following meetings are scheduled:

Utqiagvik, Aug. 20, 5:30-8 p.m., Inupiat Heritage Center;

Fairbanks, Aug. 22, 6-8 p.m., Westmark Hotel Fairbanks;

Anchorage, Aug. 23, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Crowne Plaza Hotel-Midtown;

Atqasuk, Aug. 27, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Atqasuk Community Center;

Nuiqsut, Aug. 28, 5-8 p.m., Kisik Community Center;

Anaktuvuk Pass, Aug. 29, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Anaktuvuk Pass Community Center.

The public comment period runs through Sept. 6.
