Corps names regulatory division chief

Kevin D. Morgan has been named chief of the Alaska District U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Regulatory Division.

The corps said Dec. 12 that Morgan has returned to Alaska from a recent position as chief of the evaluation section of the Corps’ Galveston District in Texas. He previously served for 17 years in various leadership roles at the Alaska District.

Morgan and his staff handle all corps regulatory matters in Alaska.

Morgan began work at the corps in the early 1980s as a laborer in the Fort Worth District. After graduating from Texas A&M University in 1982 with a bachelor of science degree in range science, Morgan worked for the corps in Texas in various positions.

He moved to the Alaska District’s regulatory office in 1990. After working a year in private industry in 1999 he returned to the Alaska District.
