Lockhart replaces Little in Alaska

The head of Marathon Oil in Alaska, T. Mitch Little, is being replaced by Carri Lockhart who is moving to Alaska from Houston, where she has been Marathon’s director of business development for the Americas. The change in Alaska leadership will be effective June 1, Lockhart told Petroleum News April 3.

Little, who took over from John Barnes in Alaska on Aug. 13, 2007, has been promoted to general manager of worldwide drilling and completions. He will report to Dave Roberts, Marathon’s executive vice president of upstream.

Lockhart, whose new title will be asset manager for Alaska, got her start with Marathon in Alaska in 1993; prior to that she served as a summer intern for the company in the state. She has a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Montana Tech. When asked what strengths she brings to the position, Lockhart said she has good collaboration skills and experience in production.

But, she said, there’s not going to be a major change in how things are done in Alaska when she takes over from Little: “I will be working with a tremendous amount of horsepower and good people in Alaska. There’s not going to be much of a change in terms of our efforts to build collaboration and relationships everywhere we do business.”

Lockhart expects to move to Alaska “in the June timeframe” with her husband and two young sons.
