Fuhr named VP, GM for Denali mainline
Kris Fuhr of ConocoPhillips has been named vice president and project general manager for the Alaska mainline project for Denali — The Alaska Gas Pipeline LLC.
Fuhr joins Denali from ConocoPhillips’ Houston office, where he was general manager, exploration and production projects.
He is a 26-year veteran in the oil and gas industry and held various engineering positions with Atlantic Richfield Co. from 1983-88, when he transferred to an engineering and project management role.
Between 1991 and 2000, Fuhr held various positions in both Prudhoe Bay and Anchorage. In 2000, he was assigned as the Alaska capital projects manager for Phillips Petroleum Co.-operated properties.
“Kris is a highly accomplished professional,” Denali President Bud Fackrell said in an Aug. 4 statement. “His proven history of delivering business results along with continually improved safety performance will be invaluable as he manages the construction of the pipeline from the North Slope.”
Fuhr has a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He and his family will return to Anchorage.
