Pipeline operator fails to find missing pig piece

An aggressive cleaning device sent through the trans-Alaska oil pipeline failed to find a 20-inch diameter metal ring that went missing in the line in December, a spokesman for the operator said Feb. 4.
The stainless steel ring is part of another cleaning tool called a scraping pig that broke apart....
