Emerald acquires McKenzie County acreage

Emerald Oil Inc. has bought a sizable acreage position in the Bakken from Kodiak Oil and Gas Inc., it was revealed in a Jan. 10 form 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The Kodiak deal represented the lion’s share of a $74.6 million acquisition package Emerald announced Jan 10.
