Furie completes testing at Kitchen Lights No. 3; moving to next site

Furie Operating Alaska has completed its gas drill stem testing in its Kitchen Lights Unit No. 3 well, offshore in Alaska’s Cook Inlet, Damon Kade, the company’s president, told Petroleum News on July 8. The company had previously found gas in its Kitchen Lights unit and planned to use the No. 3 well to assess that discovery. However, the company is remaining tight lipped over the size of its find.

“We had a good test,” Kade said.

The company plans to move its Spartan 151 jack-up drilling rig to the site of its next well, the Kitchen Lights No. 4, within the week, Kade said. Furie has previously indicated that this next Kitchen Lights well would target an oil prospect.

Furie has said that it is moving ahead with plans to install a monopod platform to develop its offshore gas find. The company has been obtaining the necessary permits for the platform, in hopes of installing the platform in 2014.
