Q. What do you most want people to know about your company?

A. AIRVAC, Inc. has been supplying products and service to Alaska’s villages, oil field, Arctic camps, Industrial and Commercial Building for more than 15 years. AIRVAC is the problem solving company that cares about the customer’s needs.

Q. Where is your company located?

A. Our corporate offices are located in Rochester, Indiana with a field representative office in Anchorage, Alaska.

Q. What year was the company founded and by whom?

A. AIRAVC, Inc. is a 40 year old company incorporated in Indiana.

Q. What is the company’s primary business sector?

A. We supply complete vacuum waste collection system and refurbishments throughout Alaska. No other company provides the hands on service and parts like we do for all segments of the Alaskan markets.

Q. Are there important projects the company is currently a part of or has done recently?

A. We have over 20 villages and camps that we work on in Alaska answering the unique problems which are exclusive to Alaska. AIRVAC, Inc. has over 500 systems throughout the world.

Q. How many employees does your company have?

A. We currently employ 98 people.

Q. Describe the equipment your company might use and are there any new purchases planned?

A. We have an ongoing product improvement program. We have recently installed new Cad and imaging systems.

Q. Is your company expanding any of its operations or locations?

A. Our current plan is for a fully authorized service and parts center in Anchorage.

Q. Is the company changing any of its services?

A. We have introduced complete vacuum system with wastewater treatment systems from small local applications to complete villages and camps.

Q. What is your company’s main strength or its edge over the competition?

A. We recognize the problems in Alaska and the need to respond quickly with reliable products for new construction and retro fit equipment.

Q. What new markets, clients or projects did your company attract in the last year?

A. We have expanded our outreach to the oil and mining markets with emphases on engineering quality solutions.

Q. What is the most challenging job the company has undertaken? 

A. As a problem solver, we face the unusual as a matter of course and work with our clients to reach the best solution to their particular problems.

Q. What are the biggest obstacles to completing work the company undertakes?

A. Getting our message out the remote areas and reaching the right people.

Q. What do you see as your company’s biggest challenge in the next five years?

A. As the number one supplier of vacuum waste systems in the world we must continue our strategy of Customer First. Provide that which is needed with care and concern.

Q. Does your company have an anniversary or other landmark event coming up?

A. We are looking forward to our 40th anniversary as a standalone company in 2014.

Q. What is the average length of time employee’s work for the company?

A. We very rarely are faced with any kind of turnover. Over 60 percent of our employees have been with us for 20 plus years of service.

Q. What is your company’s safety record? What steps does the company take to ensure a safe work environment?

A. We have a fully credited Safety Department and we school and test our employees yearly.

Q. Has your company been involved in any community projects or charities events?

A. We are one of our community’s largest supporters. We have sponsored little league, ran our local county airport and supported many different activities within Fulton County.
