Arctic Oil & Gas Directory: CMI’s Gerondale, Smith promoted to new positions
Construction Machinery Industrial LLC, Alaska’s heavy equipment dealer for Hitachi, Atlas Copco, Link-Belt, Volvo and Ingersoll-Rand, said March 1 that it has named Chris Gerondale to the new position of vice president of mining sales and key accounts and Cade Smith as its new Southeast region manager for the Juneau and Ketchikan branches.
Gerondale worked part time at CMI in the 1980s and 1990s, joining CMI full time in 2004 as the Southeast region manager. During that time he increased market share, revenue and profitability through CMI’s focus of developing a better understanding of customers’ needs. Gerondale will now be charged with grasping a deeper understanding of mining companies concerns and how CMI can assist them.
Before joining CMI, Smith worked as the maintenance manager for Fairbanks Gold Mine where he was responsible for maintenance pertaining to all surface operations and the mill. He has been a service manager for CMI since 2006 and now will be in charge of all operations at the Juneau and Ketchikan branches and continues to increase the level of Parts and Service support CMI has established.
