On May 3, U.S. President George W. Bush nominated former Alaska Division of Oil and Gas Division Director Mark Myers to head the prestigious U.S. Geological Survey. Myers replaces Charles Groat, who resigned almost a year ago after serving as director since the Clinton administration in 1998.
