Unique Machine LLC celebrated the grand opening of its new technology center June 29. Attending the celebration were members of the Alaska State Legislature, including Rep. Chris Tuck, D-Anchorage.
The center is located at 8845 King Street, in House District 29, South Anchorage, which Tuck represents and which contains the highest concentration of warehousing, retail stores, and fabrication shops found together in Alaska.
“I’m proud to support Unique Machine’s manufacturing opportunities right here in my district. Producing physical goods at home in Alaska earns jobs and wealth for our state and our nation,” Tuck said.
Unique Machine, in conjunction with Orange County Choppers, had a special chopper built to celebrate Alaska’s 50th anniversary of statehood, which was on display during the grand opening. (According to Wikipedia, a chopper is a radically customized motorcycle.)
Unique Machine is Alaska’s largest machine shop, and performs manufacturing, overhaul and repair for many major Alaska industries, including oil and gas, construction, mining and fishing, as well as for the general public.
