Q. What is the official name of your company?

A. NETZSCH Pumps North America, LLC

Q. Is your firm a subsidiary or affiliate of other companies? If so, please name those firms and their relationship to your company.

A. The NETZSCH Group is a mid-sized, family-owned German company engaging in the manufacturer of machinery and instrumentation with worldwide production, sales, and service branches. Pumps & Systems is the largest of the three business units which include Analyzing & Testing and Grinding & Dispersing.

NETZSCH has over 3,200 employees, 140 sales and production centers in 28 countries worldwide.

Q. What do you most want people to know about your company?

A. We want to be your progressing cavity pump, rotary lobe pump and multiple screw pump supplier of choice in the USA by providing the highest quality products and the best service. Our customers’ expectations of superior products and service are legitimate and we meet them by means of innovative solutions, professionalism, reliability and good value. Our success lies in our broad application knowledge, world-class products, over 60 years of experience, close and trusting customer relationships and the reputation as world market leader for progressing cavity pumps.

We manufacture according to international standards such as API 676 and are certified according to DIN EN 9001: 2000. We weld in accordance with ASME IX and we use materials such as chromium-nickel steels, duplex and super duplex steels, hastelloy, titanium, as well as synthetic and ceramic materials. NBR, HNBR and Viton are the elastomers we use.

Shaft seals are available according to API 682 with installation space API610. Stuffing-box packing, lip seals, single-acting mechanical seals with and without quenching, dual-acting mechanical seals (back-to-back or tandem) as well as shaft–seal-free designs with magnetic coupling. Thermo syphon systems according to API designs.

NEMO® Progressing Cavity Pumps can handle fluids having the following properties: Shear sensitive, low to high viscosity, with or without solids, dilatant or thixotropic, and abrasive.

TORNADO® Rotary Lobe Pumps can handle any kind of liquid including product containing gas, solids or fibrous matter, lubricating and non-lubricating media, media with high or low viscosity, shear sensitive fluids. This pump type offers full-service-in-place, tolerance for dry running and reversible operation.

Multiple screw pumps can handle both high and low viscosity materials with a pulsation free delivery, for clean lubricants to low abrasive products and lubricating to non-lubricating product. Robust and hydraulically balanced designs.

Q. Where is your company located?

A. The North American headquarters in located at 119 Pickering Way, Exton, PA 19341 with sales and service facilities all over the U.S. and Canada.

Q. What year was the company founded and by whom?

A. In 1873 NETZSCH was founded by Thomas Netzsch and his brother Christian in Selb/Upper Franconia. In 1969 the first U.S. location was opened in Exton, PA.

Q. What is your company’s primary business activity?

A. Providing positive displacement pumps to the oil and gas industry.

Q. How many employees does your company have?

A. NETZSCH has over 3,200 employees worldwide.

Q. Describe the equipment your company uses and are there any new equipment purchases planned?

A. NETZSCH has state of the art manufacturing facilities in Germany, Brazil, China, India, Japan and in the U.S.

Q. Is your company expanding any of its operations or locations?

A. Yes, we are constantly growing. Just recently, our North American presence was expanded to include sales and service centers most particularly for the O&G markets in Bakersfield, CA and Odessa, TX to be more responsive to our customers in the oil and gas rich areas of the United States.

Q. Is the company changing any of its services or products?

A. NETZSCH has just introduced a multiple screw pump line to the North American Market. We also have already-established technical expertise for this kind of pump in a wide range of markets.

Q. What is your company’s main strength or its edge over the competition?

A. NETZSCH is one source for progressing cavity pumps including artificial lift DH pumps, rotary lobe pumps and now multiple screw pumps with experts available to meet the customer’s specifications from simple replacement to challenging customizations and systems.

Q. What new markets, clients or projects did your company attract in the last year?

A. LACT Unit Skid manufacturers around North America.

Q. What is the most challenging work/contract the company has undertaken? 

A. We are producing pumps for the harshest environments – whether they are installed in the desert of North Africa or in the Arctic Circle. Our team and our equipment have repeatedly proven our capabilities.

Q. Does your company have an anniversary or other landmark event coming up?

A. For the second time since 2011, NETZSCH was presented with a highly appreciated best practices award by Frost & Sullivan, the U.S.-based growth partnership company. In its motivation statement, Frost & Sullivan explained that the 2014 Global Product Leadership Award in progressive cavity pumps for oil and gas was issued by evaluating total client experience and strategy implementation excellence using a scorecard, including 10 benchmark criteria for both product leadership and management culture, which has set NETZSCH clearly apart from the other companies in the field.

Q. What is the average length of time employee’s work for the company?

A. NETZSCH has 10 employees working for over 50 years and 38 with over 40 years of employment. We are proud of all our employees; they are all a part of the NETZSCH family.

Q. What is your company’s safety record?

A. NETZSCH is a safety conscious organization which values Health, Safety and Environmental Protection aspects throughout all stages of its work. Our clear objective is to avoid harm to people, property and the environment by adopting a proactive approach to effective risk and safety management. We follow high standards with local policies, all over the world. Following is a selection of the activities that are currently in place worldwide: Special in-house safety programs in North America, in-house fitness exercise and interactive online health and safety education in Germany, recreation support – for instance at the “NETZSCH ACAEN Club” in Brazil, safety instruction flyers and handbooks for employees and visitors in all plants around the world, state of the art waste separation and environmentally safe disposal fulfilling or even exceeding local regulations in India and China, running a company owned wastewater treatment plant in Brazil and implementation of DIN ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 in Germany. All these activities along with others help us to achieve continuously low incident statistics throughout the world and a better environmental protection.
