US drilling rig count up by one to 984

The number of rigs drilling for oil and natural gas in the U.S. was up by one the week ending May 31 to 984.
A year ago, the count was 1,060 active rigs.
Houston oilfield services company Baker Hughes reported that 800 rigs targeted oil (up three from the previous week) and 184 targeted natural gas....
