Mining News: News Nuggets: Bokan drilling shows REE constancy
Ucore Rare Metals Inc. Feb. 3 reported assay results from the 2014 infill drill program at the Bokan-Dotson Ridge rare earth elements project in Southeast Alaska. Ucore said the resource confirmation drilling intersected the mineralized zone as expected, and with assay results consistent with those returned on prior programs. Of the 12 holes drilled, 10 cut significant mineralization. The company highlights the prevalence of intersections averaging more than 1 percent total rare earth oxides. The best of these intersections where encountered in DDH 142 cut 2.42 meters grading 1.03 percent TREO, 2.76 meters grading 1.65 percent TREO, 3.37 meters grading 1.9 percent TREO and 2.88 meters grading 1.12 percent TREO. A total of 17 diamond holes (3,960 meters) were drilled at Bokan in 2014. Together with the results from the five deep holes reported by the company in late January, the assay results will be used to upgrade and expand the Bokan-Dotson Ridge mineral resource in preparation for the coming feasibility study to be completed by Ausenco Engineering Canada Inc.
