Arctic Directory: UMIAQ now offering OSHA professional training
UMIAQ, a subsidiary of UIC, said Oct. 23 it is building a pool of job seekers, with the goal of training employees for positions across multiple projects by offering Occupational Safety and Health training related to the construction and oil and gas industries to its shareholders, descendents of shareholders, and spouses of shareholders free of charge.
OSHA course opportunities include maritime, construction, general industry and disaster site worker. Courses are currently being held in Barrow, Alaska, with potential courses held in Anchorage, depending on demand and availability.
