Arctic Directory: Lounsbury’s Ayers receives CFedS certification

Lounsbury & Associates Inc. said July 20 that Kenneth W. Ayers, PLS, recently received the Certified Federal Surveyors certification from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. The CFedS program was designed specifically to enhance the level of knowledge and expertise in the professional land surveying community for survey work performed on federal lands and especially on Indian trust lands. To earn the CFedS designation, professional land surveyors must complete approximately 120 hours of course materials prepared by the BLM’s National Training Center and pass three certification examinations. To maintain the certification, a CFedS must complete 10 hours of continuing education annually.

Ayers is vice president of Lounsbury & Associates Inc. and has been licensed to practice land surveying in Alaska since 1993. Founded in 1949, Lounsbury provides surveying and civil engineering services statewide to a wide variety of clientele.
