PND Engineers Inc. recently said that it is proud to announce the new hires of Nathan Harris, E.I.T., and Brandi Opsahl, E.I.T., who recently joined the firm as staff engineers. Both are lifelong Alaskans, and both graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering. Harris brings to his position field inspection, highway design and construction administration experience. Opsahl was an intern at PND prior to becoming a full-time employee. In addition PND announced the professional achievements of Brenna Hughes, Timothy Peters and Ingrid Martin. Hughes was hired as an environmental scientist. Hughes has seven years of experience planning, permitting, and executing geophysical and hydrographic surveys in support of marine construction, resource development and nautical charting. She has broad experience with the Alaska regulatory environment and with the logistics and permits required to implement field projects in remote environments.

Peters, PND’s systems administrator, recently obtained the CompTIA Security+ certification. The Security+ credential is an internationally recognized validation of foundation-level information technology security skills and knowledge. Peters has seven years of professional IT experience and has been with PND since 2012.

Martin, marketing manager for PND, has earned the designation of Certified Professional Services Marketer through the Society for Marketing Professional Services, which advocates for, educates, and connects leaders in the design and building industry. Candidates must meet educational and experience requirements, pass a written examination, and pledge to abide by the CPSM Code of Ethics. Martin rejoined PND in August 2014. She was the firm’s marketing manager from 2000-08. She has an extensive background in journalism and has also worked as a federal-contracting proposal manager.
