Arctic Directory: Denali Industrial Supply commemorates 25 years

Denali Industrial Supply Inc. said June 7 that it will be celebrating 25 years of business in Interior Alaska on June 13. James Kilbourn, Gary Swoffer, and Eddie O’Rear started the company as Denali Fastener Supply in 1986, in 1,500 square feet of space on Van Horn Road, quickly adding an additional 3,000 square feet of space over the next two years.

In 1989 the company changed its name to Denali Industrial Supply and moved into a 12,000 square foot facility; to this day is still known as Denali Fastener Supply by some customers.

Starting out with just $30,000 worth of inventory, today the company holds about $2 million of inventory and sells its product all across Alaska. In April Denali Industrial moved back to its previous Van Horn Road location, into a newly remodeled 15,000 square foot building.

“We want to thank all of our loyal customers for their support over these 25 years and look forward to servicing them for another 25 years,” said Gary Swoffer, president, Denali Industrial. “We wouldn’t be celebrating this milestone without you.”
