Arctic Directory: Tikigaq-ESS charity golf tournament raises $23,500

Tikigaq-ESS Support Services Joint Venture recently hosted a charity golf tournament for Tikigaq Foundation Native youth programs for the Tikigaq village of Hope, raising $23,500.

Mel Porter, business development director of ESS Support Services in Alaska, said 16 teams competed at Settlers Bay Golf Course, for prizes provided by ESS suppliers and other Tikigaq business partners.

Porter is already planning a 2009 tournament with bigger prizes and fundraising goals.
