Good afternoon,
The Anchorage Economic Development Corporation will be hosting an event to present the latest “Resource Extraction Projects Projection” on Thursday, March 31, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Anchorage Marriott Ballroom.
This annual projection was developed from numbers compiled by Petroleum News and our sister publication North of 60 Mining News. Support for developing the actual projection was provided by the McDowell Group.
The projection is a forward looking analysis of oil and gas and minerals projects that either could be under development, or are already under development, across the state. AEDC evaluates their potential impacts in the form of investment and employment over a 10-year period.
According to AEDC’s Bill Popp, it “will not be a projection based on optimism,” but it will be interesting to see what’s possible if all the stars align, including drivers such as the state’s fiscal regime, federal permitting streamlining, commodity prices, etc.
In addition to providing attendees with the latest oil, gas and minerals development projections, AEDC has invited Dave Witte, executive vice president of CMAI, www.cmaiglobal.com, to talk about possible opportunities for Southcentral Alaska in the global chemical industry. (Bill tells me things are changing in that industry—changing in ways that might benefit Alaska development.)
Tickets for the event are $25. In addition to stimulating presentations and the chance to mingle with great minds, light appetizers will be served (plus there will be a no host bar). Click here to be included.
