The Alaska Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Oil and Gas said this afternoon that it has received 110 bids for tomorrow’s Cook Inlet areawide oil and gas lease sale.
The division said this is the largest number of bids for a Cook Inlet lease sale since 1983.
There were only five bids for the 2009 Cook Inlet oil and gas lease sale, and only 37 bids in last year’s sale.
Bids will be opened at 9 a.m. tomorrow in the Kahtnu Room 1 of the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center in downtown Anchorage.
Petroleum News will report results after the sale tomorrow.
