Escopeta begins offshore drilling in Cook Inlet, Alaska
Escopeta Oil Co. LLC announced today that it has begun drilling an offshore exploration well in Cook Inlet Alaska.
The well was spudded this afternoon using a jack-up drilling rig the company recently positioned in upper Cook Inlet, ten miles north of Nikiski. The well, KLU#1, is the first of a multi-year multi-well exploration program in the Kitchen Lights unit. The drilling rig, the Spartan 151, is the first jack-up rig in Cook Inlet since 1994.
