BLM sets time for NPR-A sale

The federal Bureau of Land Management said Oct. 5 that it will open sealed bids for its 2012 National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska oil and gas lease sale at 1 p.m., Nov. 7, in the Denali Room at the Anchorage Federal Office Building.

The agency said sealed bids must be received by 4 p.m. Nov. 5 at the BLM-Alaska State Office.

BLM is offering 400 tracts, some 4.5 million acres. The agency said there are currently 177 authorized oil and gas leases, some 1.4 million acres, within the Northeast and Northwest NPR-A planning areas. The state on the sale published in the Federal Register is available at www.blm.gov/ak.
